About Me

I'm Senna, a Korean-English translator based in Cumbria (UK), working with clients worldwide.

I've spent more than ten years translating between Korean and English, for clients ranging from independent authors to international companies. In that time I've learned that the hard part is rarely the vocabulary. It's tone: knowing when a Korean phrase carries deference that English has no grammar for, and finding the words that land the same way for a reader who has never encountered it.

That's the work I care about. Every project gets translated, then read back as though I were the intended audience, because a translation that is technically correct but reads like a translation hasn't done its job.

My background includes specialised training in translation and experience across technology, legal, marketing, and entertainment. I work in both directions, Korean to English and English to Korean, and I'm happy to advise on which approach a particular document needs before you commit to anything.
